Provincial Grand Registrar's 2009 Report

I have pleasure in presenting my Annual Report for the period 1st September 2007 to the 31st August 2008.

I can again report that our membership is strong, and, with a further increase in members entered our Order, fewer deaths and exclusions, so a year of consolidation.

My detailed report on the Royal Ark Mariner Degree was tabled at last week’s Provincial Assembly of Royal Ark Mariners, when I was able to report that last year was also a year of consolidation after the net losses of previous years. The number of brethren Elevated has remained constant but we actually had fewer resignations than the previous two years.

The ‘Exit’ forms continue to provide good feedback and, from those we can see the continuing trend for members to reduce their multiple memberships.

After six years, I am standing down as Provincial Registrar today. During my term in office I have worked hard to eliminate the continued discrepancies between the Grand Lodge Returns and the Provincial Returns and I thank all Secretaries for their assistance in my endeavours

As I hand over to my successor, W. Bro. Peter Boughton, I am confident he will work with the Provincial Grand Secretary, and the Provincial Database, to continue to provide the Provincial Grand Master, and the Executive, with accurate and up-to-date information on our membership, vital to safeguard our future.
