Annual Report
This is my fourth and final Annual Report as Provincial Grand Secretary.
The Province has had another busy year and the Provincial Officers of the year have supported members of the Executive at every installation meeting of Mark and Royal Ark Mariner Lodges in the Province. The Provincial Officers demonstrated the ceremony of elevation in the William Hamilton Underhill RAM Lodge No 926 in November and the ceremony of advancement in the James Terry Mark Lodge No 556 in May.
The annual meeting of Grand Officers was held in January and the Provincial RAM Assembly was held under the banner of the Hertfordshire Installed Commanders RAM Lodge No 1121.
The Stanstead Abbotts RAM Lodge No 1809 was consecrated in April and new banners have been dedicated for the Provincial Stewards Mark Lodge No 1880 and the Ayot Mark and RAM Lodges No1529.
The Provincial Executive met one of the students at the University of Hertfordshire who have been awarded the Mark Masons of Hertfordshire scholarships.
A revised Guide for Lodge Secretaries was issued during the year and the new Provincial database was commissioned
The annual lunches for Provincial Officers and Masters & Commanders were held at Radlett and the Province spent a weekend away travelling across the North Sea to Denmark including a coach tour of the district around Esbjerg.
RW Bro Keith Emmerson retired as Provincial Grand Master on 21st June and to mark his retirement the Province held a well attended dinner in his honour at which he was presented with a silver “Armada” dish and Mrs Jean Emmerson was presented with three roses of the “Hertfordshire” variety. All the Mark and RAM Lodges in the Province contributed towards these gifts.
Both the Deputy and Assistant Grand Secretaries have worked very hard during the year to ensure the smooth running of the Provincial administration. The Provincial Deputy Grand Secretary retires from office at this meeting and I thank him for all his work for the Province over the past two years.
