Provincial Grand Charity Steward’s Report
to Provincial Grand Lodge
Since my appointment in July of last year I have been honoured to be your Charity Steward.
Brethren of the Province, despite the tough economic conditions that have prevailed since last year, you have continued to support the Province with your charitable giving. Brethren have been recognised by the RW Provincial Grand Master and continue to be recognised by receiving Certificates of Patronage presented to them in their chosen manner.
Lodges have also taken to their hearts the desired wish of the PGM that Hertfordshire MMM look to their local communities to assist with generous donations and along with the help from the Province are making and continue to make, a very real difference to those in need. One such local Charity to benefit, have been the volunteers of the Charity known as “SERV – Service by Emergency Riding Volunteers” known colloquially as the “Blood Runners.” They received help in purchasing much needed High-Visibility tabards for wear when riding their motorcycles and engaged on blood running activities.
The Mark and Royal Ark Mariners in Hertfordshire have [I hope] been very supportive in raising further funds for the Benevolent Fund by purchasing specially designed and painted Christmas Cards that are on sale here today [my thanks to the Artist, W.Bro Ralph Howell, for his help and guidance in this matter]. Brethren nothing now remains but for me to prevail upon you politely for your continued help in fund raising for the needy of Hertfordshire. I will continue to serve you and the Province in whatever role I can, but in the absence of me visiting you personally, may I ask that you continue to support your very own Lodge Charity Steward in his difficult task of raising monies for Charity.
