Provincial Grand Almoner's Annual Report
It is almost twelve months since I took over the reins from Henry Ginger and it has been a most enlightening experience.
Since the institution of the office of Provincial Grand Almoner, my predecessor has made great strides to promote the work of the almoner both at lodge as well as Provincial level, and I am happy to continue this work and to seek to make the job more transparent.
I have made many new friendships within the Mark and Craft Provinces, and I would like to particularly thank George Taylor, Provincial Almoner in the Craft, for his invaluable assistance and advice on occasions. As would be expected we work very closely together. Also my thanks go to Henry Ginger for providing a shoulder to lean on.
During the year it has been pleasing to assist several members and their families who have needed help, and several petitions have been submitted resulting in various brethren receiving the support they require. To enable this to happen brethren, I would stress that I am available on the end of a telephone, or the Internet, to assist where and when I can.
Another successful Almoners seminar was held in February of this year with lively discussion and a good exchange of ideas, and I would thank all those who attended and participated in making it a most enjoyable evening. My thanks also go to Margaret Ginger for her considerable assistance.
Finally may I say thank you to all those members of the Provincial Executive and members of the General Purposes Committee who have provided support and advice during my first year in office.
I look forward to serving the members of the Province in the future.
