Members of the Provincial Grand Mark Lodge of Hertfordshire, their Families and Friends are invited to a social evening at Her Majesty’s Royal Palace and Fortress of the Tower of London as the personal guests of Yeoman Warder Gary Thynne on Saturday, 20th October, 2018. Members are limited to a maximum of three guests in the first instance as the event is likely to be oversubscribed but please indicate if you would be interested in more places. The remaining tickets will be released on 1st October. Any surplus after the expenses have been met will be donated to the Herts. Mark Benevolent Fund,

PROGRAMME for the evening:

17:00 (sharp) Three Course Supper in private (basement) Dining Room at Brasserie Blanc,
14, Trinity Square, Tower Hill, London EC3N 4AA. Drinks are not included.

19:15 Walk to the main entrance to the Tower.

21:30 Watch the Ceremony of the Keys.

The Ceremony of the Keys is the traditional locking up of the Tower of London and has taken place on each and every night, without fail, for at least 700 years. The importance of securing this fortress for the night is still very relevant because, although the Monarch no longer resides at this Royal Palace, the Crown Jewels and many other valuables still do! No photography allowed.

22:15 Return to Club.

23:00 Depart. Visitors must be off the premises by 23:15; guests have ranked the overnight accommodation as consistently below 1* for the last millennium!
